Recently the academy had a visit from Alison Cope, a renowned anti-knife crime campaigner, who spoke in assemblies with our Key Stage 3 (KS3) students. The assemblies took place on Friday 13th June with the aim to deliver an important message about the consequences of knife crime and the value of making safe, educated choices.
Alison Cope is dedicated to shedding light on the devastating impacts of knife crime, her campaigns have reached wide audiences, advocating for a future free from violence and fear. During her visit, Alison shared her experiences and offered invaluable insights into the realities of knife crime.
This visit presented a unique opportunity for our students to gain a deeper understanding of the issue, and students learned about the importance of community, empathy, and the role that each individual plays in fostering a safer environment and encouraging everyone to think more about their own choices and the potential impact. Conversations around safety, peer pressure, and conflict resolution can empower our young people to navigate their environments with caution and confidence.
Alison’s visit has inspired our students to be advocates for change in our community and we have received lots of heartwarming messages and feedback from both parents and students, thanking Alison for her visit to the academy and her important message.
