Enrichment Days
Ernulf Academy runs numerous ‘Enrichment Days’ throughout the school year. Our enrichment days are whole year group trips to broaden horizons, raise aspiration and take scholars beyond their lived experiences.
Enrichment days are heavily subsidised by the school to enable all scholars to attend. In 2024/5 enrichment days included –
British Museum
IWM Duxford
National Gallery
Tate Modern
RAF Museum Hendon
University of Bedfordshire
Cambridge University
Culture Day
STEM day
Audley End
Kenilworth Castle
Careers days
… and EVEN a trip to the beach.
Each enrichment day has a ‘Big Question’ which scholars work on during the day to ensure the day has an impact on scholars cultural capital and their academic performance.
Enrichment days and whole school trip days are integral components of every educational experience, acting as a dynamic bridge between the traditional curriculum and real world experiences. Our enrichment days provide students with an opportunity to explore subjects beyond the textbooks and classrooms, broadening their understanding and appreciation of various fields. At their core, enrichment days aim to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning by engaging students in activities and projects that cater to diverse interests and learning styles.
By stepping away from routine classroom instruction, students are encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively, and solve problems in innovative ways.
Enrichment days are a big highlight for our scholars and our staff. All staff join these days out and spend time with students away from their classrooms. We are really proud to be one of a very small number of schools that are able to offer whole school trip days, and we always look forward to them.
